Telehealth allows a patient and physical therapist to connect in a virtual secure, private manner online using their computer, phone, or smart device.

To set up a telehealth virtual visit follow the steps below:

    • you will receive an email with the information needed to sign in to your appointment virtually at your scheduled time

    • you will receive the initial visit paperwork and consent forms in your email.  Please fill these out prior to your visit.

  • BEFORE YOUR VIRTUAL VISIT

    • you can use any device that has a camera and a microphone (smart phone, laptop, tablet, ipad, computer with a camera, etc.....)

    • make sure you update your browser to the latest version (chrome, firefox, safari, etc...)

    • for the best video quality, stop any streaming service in your house (netflix, amazon prime, hulu, etc...)

    • it is preferable for you to be in a quiet location without a lot of noise so we can communicate back and forth.

  • AT YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME, LOG IN AND JOIN YOU PRIVATE TELEHEALTH VIRTUAL VISIT

    • When it is time for your scheduled visit, either link from  the email you were sent or type https:doxy.me/drmclemens

    • once you click begin you will need to consent to the telehealth before joining your physical therapist on a private shared video chat

    • you must confirm that you are physically located in West Virginia

    • if you have technical difficulties we will attempt to call you on your phone

  • HOW TO USE PRIVATE TELEHEALTH VIRTUAL VISIT PLATFORM

    • you must click to allow access to your microphone and camera for sound and video

    • you should be able to hear and see yourself and your physical therapist on screen

    • If everything is working correctly, you can just have a conversation with your physical therapist, almost like you were in a room together.

  • RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A GOOD VIRTUAL VISIT EXPERIENCE

    • be in a private location where others cannot hear (unless you want them too).  Remember any conversation on person in the room will come through on the other end of the video chat.

    • Keep the area you are in free of sounds and distractions in the background

    • For example: doing a telehealth session in a busy restaurant would not be private enough and the excess noise in the background would make the visit difficult.

    • **make sure to have any streaming service in your house turned off (netflix, hulu, amazon prime, etc....)  These services get preferential bandwidth when running and will make your video chat be of poor quality or kick you off.

    • keep in mind that technology is both wonderful and frustrating at the same time ;)

    • Some errors may be adjustable on your end:

      • check again to make sure no one is on a streaming service

      • if video is choppy, you may be able to click in the bottom right corner of the video screen where there are three vertical dots, then select manage video quality and go for a lower video quality

    • Other errors such as spotty internet service, internet throttling, or slow internet speeds or even internet cutting out or stopping may be a result of high internet traffic or a result of issues with the internet provider on either end.

    • We will do our best to provide you with a quality experience.  We appreciate your understanding with things that are out of our control.

    • If something decreases the quality of your experience we will try our best to make it right for you.

  • TROUBLESHOOTING

    • you must use the latest version of chrome, safari,  or firefox as you browser

    • make sure all streaming services are turned off.

    • be in a quiet area
