TMJ, Facial Pain
&
Headaches
Jaw pain, clicking, tension headaches that show up every afternoon, most people just live with it, assuming it's not serious enough to treat or that nothing can really be done. TMJ-related pain affects a large share of adults, and most never seek treatment for it at all, even though it responds well to conservative, hands-on care.
At Clemens Physical Therapy, we treat TMJ, jaw, and facial pain using the same gentle, hands-on approach we use throughout the body, not aggressive stretching or forceful manipulation of the jaw. Dr. Clemens has over 30 years of experience and specialty training in manual physical therapy, and treatment is always private and one-on-one.
Conditions we regularly treat:
-
TMJ (temporomandibular joint) pain, clicking, popping, or locking
-
Headaches related to jaw tension or teeth clenching
-
Facial pain and muscle tightness
-
Difficulty chewing or fully opening the mouth
-
Bell's Palsy and other facial nerve-related conditions
West Virginia allows direct access to physical therapy, meaning you're legally able to start treatment without a referral. That said, most insurance plans still require one to cover your visits, so we recommend checking with your doctor or calling us first. We're happy to help you figure out exactly what your plan needs before you come in. Call 304-842-6008 to get started.
